Welcome to Scarlet!
This magazine is about and for models and photographers.
My goal is to attract other creative artists, photographers and models who might want an outlet to display their work.
The first issue focuses on some of my erotic work.

Lighting Diagram from Brookes Shoot
Posted on | January 18, 2010 | No Comments
The only thing that I think that I do special in a shoot is that I really look at the light as it falls on my subject. Trying to make sure that I’m happy with the way the light looks.
Shooting with Brooke.

Here are a few images from my shoot a few weeks ago with Brooke. This is the third time we’ve worked together and I think each time we have created wonderful, erotic imagery. Brook is creative and so visually sexy and stimulating I can’t imagine not getting amazing photos. I can’t wait till we get to shoot again.

And right back at you stranger! Wow! I did wonder what happened to you, you just disappeared, but that goes on a lot in model /photographer land.
Thank you for the compliment on the magazine. The hard copies are gorgeous, they’re printed wonderfully and though I think my design skills are weak they’ll do till the next issue.
I plan to do three issues (more if I’m having fun) with the next one coming out in March/April. The price is $15.95 + $3.00 shipping/handling/tax per issue. You can just click on the “Buy Magazine and Prints” to get a copy. And yes I do need to get up a few more prints for sale.
I see that you did join my FB Scarlet page, Thanks! Now don’t be a stranger, if you pop back into town try (I know family obligations and friends ect.) to say hi.
When you have a moment please interact with both my FB page and the web mag. Let me know what you like what you don’t like and would change. And what you’d like to see in the future. I’m at home with the flu (very mild and at the last day) but I think I’ll use parts of this in my blog today.
Great to hear from you,

Nancy’s new Website
Posted on | December 11, 2009 | No Comments
I’ve been reading Searching for Suzi by Nancy Stohlman. I’m not a reviewer so I’ll keep this short. I’ve enjoyed the poignant but melancholy humor. And the story is keeping me entertained, I can’t ask for more.
Nancy has a new website. Most of the information that I’ve written about is there plus a bit more so take a moment, if you’re so inclined to check it out.

Searching for Suzi:
From the back cover:
“What happens when an ex-stripper in her mid-thirties, married with children, awakens one day questioning what brought her to a current life of complicated domesticity? Compelled to return to Omaha after seventeen years, the narrator we only know as Natalie begins a quest into her past, an adventure that takes the reader from childhood beauty pageants to the sex and glamour industries. Natalie’s search becomes an intrepid journey through her own sexuality, a woman not only claiming herself but also accepting her contradictions. With inquisitive perception and agile use of perspective, Searching for Suzi is an investigation into the tragic shadows of a past preferred to be forgotten.”

She will be in Omaha from Jan 13-15 promoting her debut novel, and she is available for interviews. Please contact Monkey Puzzle Press or Nancy directly to schedule.
My Shoot with Myra

This shoot with Myra was pure pleasure. We started flirting (photographer/model working together flirting) online about two months ago. And yes, I think of Myra as totally crazy and great to work with. So here are a few images from the shot.

Let’s try this
Posted on | October 29, 2009 | No Comments
So… I bet a lot of blogs start with “So”. It’s the end of the day and I’m sitting on the couch watching TV. The exciting life of the photographer. The only thing really done, photographically today was setting an appointment with a model. I did help another photographer/friend with his computer. I do remember when a group of guys helped me, oh so long ago when I was first learning to use the computer an figuring out what was to be my future in photography. I think it was Win98, and yes I’m a PC guy are there any more of you out there?
